 HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—ARC Design-Build, Inc., a Huntsville-based remodeling company, has won the 2010 Guildmaster Award for exceptional customer satisfaction. The award is presented annually by GuildQuality, a building, construction and remodeling industry third-party customer surveying company. The award is presented to 125 contractors in North America as recognition for exceptional service and superlative performance. The award is based on feedback from the contractor’s clients. ARC Design-Build’s respondents cited quality and value of work and strength of relationship with the company as exceeding building contractor industry standards.
“We are honored to be recognized for our hard work and customer service,” said Anders Adelfang, president of ARC Design-Build. “We always strive to do our best on each project, as our goal is for everyone who hires us to ‘love their house (again).’” ARC Design-Build is the only remodeler in Huntsville to with the Guildmaster with Distinction Award.
The Guildmaster Award is especially meaningful to ARC Design-Build because of its emphasis on customer satisfaction in a market where anything can happen. “We’re honored that rather than the contractor horror stories so often related by homeowners, our customers have written so many positive comments about our company and rated us so highly,” Adelfang said. “We hope this type of acknowledgment will encourage homeowners to know that experience with a remodeler doesn’t have to be adversarial or unpleasant, it can actually be a great experience.” One hundred percent of ARC Design-Build’s 31 respondents said they would recommend the company and hire ARC Design-Build again.
The customer service surveys noted highest marks possible in areas of project completion, knowledge, expertise, efficiency, trust, cleanliness and safety. ARC Design-Build had an excellent response rate (78 percent) to GuildQuality’s surveys. Of those surveyed, 100 percent said the process was “easier than expected”. All respondents were satisfied or “extremely satisfied” with ARC Design-Build’s quality, innovation, problem resolution and value, among other categories.
Quality Remodeler magazine names ARC Design-Build one of nation’s top remodeling innovators along with Alabama Home Builders.
The quality and workmanship of the projects surveyed led Quality Remodeler to name ARC Design-Build as one of its Top 55 remodelers nationwide for 2010. Earlier this year, ARC Design-Build won six Alabama Remodeling Excellence Awards, more than any other area remodeler.
“We are pleased with the amount of positive comments about our professionalism and commitment to a job well done,” Adelfang said. “We stress quality workmanship and excellent communication to ensure we complete every job on budget and on time the way our customers envision it.”
The company first signed on with GuildQuality in 2009 as a means to measure customer satisfaction via an unbiased, objective third party.
“It’s very important to us to have this feedback so we can continually improve our quality and practices,” Adelfang said. “Although customers are prepared for remodeling companies to go over budget and exceed time limits, we as a company are not satisfied with anything less than 100 percent customer satisfaction. We appreciate our high satisfaction scores for budget and schedule greater than 90 percent, but it is our goal in 2010 and 2011 to bring that satisfaction level up to 100 percent ‘extremely satisfied.’”
About ARC Design-Build: The customer service satisfaction feedback was based on client contact with ARC Design-Build clients whose projects included kitchen remodels, bathroom renovations, sunrooms, decks, home additions, and whole house remodels. ARC Design-Build has been in business for 11 years and at its current Five Points location for the past three. This year, it began a partnership with Habitat for Humanity to donate company time for Habitat remodeling projects in the area.
